The key to learn Yongchun

Jishou is a unique practice form of Yongchun boxing. It is not the same as boxing. Because boxing has a fixed form, such as "little idea" and "seeking bridge" of Yongchun boxing. No matter how many times you practice, the form is the same. No matter how many times you practice, if you record it, there will be different changes every time. However, the result of free combat is not equal to free combat, because the latter result will definitely tell the winner and loser. The purpose of free combat is to learn from each other in order to improve each other's skills. Therefore, in the hand training, do not put the elements of free combat into the mud, otherwise it will become meaningless and affect the learning effect.

To practice the hand, we should at least master the following four points: first, technique; second, perceptual reaction; third, exertion; fourth, position. These four points are just for the sake of explaining them clearly in learning. In practice, they are often used at two, three or even four points.

The so-called "technique" refers to the defensive and offensive hand movements in combat. It is what beginners pursue most, because they think that as long as they learn some techniques, they can solve everything. In fact, techniques can only be completed with the cooperation of the other three points. In terms of the four points, technique is the easiest to learn, because it is the easiest to see.

"Perception" and "reaction" are two different things. Perception comes first and reaction comes second. That is to say, dure wants to teach the feeling when attacking and defending, and then make an appropriate response. It doesn't need to learn deliberately, nor does it need to be taught and guided by a master. As long as he is relaxed and pays a little attention when holding hands, he will feel it naturally after a period of time.

Yongchun boxing is a kind of martial arts, so the appropriate "force" is particularly important. The so-called appropriate force means that no matter in the attack or defense, we should use force according to the need. When there is no need, we don't have to waste our physical strength. If you can do one hand hard, one hand relaxed, so as to make the other elusive. It takes a long time of hand training to control your strength freely, and it should start from weakness.

"Location" is an abstract concept. It is difficult to express it in Zhangzi. In short, it is the combination of distance and direction between the enemy and us. Because both sides constantly change their distance and direction. In addition, they can't see and feel it, so it's difficult to learn. The above-mentioned four points are more important, because you can't see the force, you can only feel it in your hands. However, you can't see or even feel it in position five, so it's the most difficult to learn.

There are three stages in the learning process, that is, following the order of Yongchun's three sets of boxing. They are "little idea", "bridge searching" and "mark pointing".

In the stage of small idea, beginners apply the techniques learned by small idea, such as spreading hand, arm hand and crouching hand, to the learning form of holding hand. At this time, they should understand the use, change and exertion of the above techniques.

The second stage is to find the bridge. When you are proficient in small ideas, you should learn to find the bridge, and add the actions of finding the bridge, such as turning the horse, to practice with the techniques learned in the small ideas stage, and finally to be harmonious and proficient.

The third stage, the signifier stage, has the same learning procedure as the above two stages.

The learning process of the three stages takes different time. Based on Ye Zhun's decades of experience in teaching boxing, the time of the first and third stages is usually shorter, and the time of the second stage is longer, because this stage focuses on the cultivation of scholars' skills of controlling strength with softness.
